Following a field walk for Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) members, the SAC met on September 18 at the Kroc Center. Meeting materials are posted on the SAC section of the website. The SAC reviewed transit daily ridership on Route 14 that serves the Kroc Center.
The SAC were also told about the meeting between BPA representatives and the project team, to review the facility concepts and discuss how the power transmission lines could be modified. While some concepts could work by raising the power lines higher, concept PV was fatally flawed due to location of the power switch to the PGE lines. There were also safety concerns about the potential danger of arcing and the impact the PV concept would have on service to the lines.
Information about the intercept survey was also discussed (see previous blog post).
Variants of concept M were shown and discussed by the SAC. Initial cost estimates for all the concepts were also presented.
After a lengthy question and answer discussion about the concepts, the SAC recommended that concepts H, UC, and SK be advanced as alternatives to study in phase 2. (These concepts can be viewed on the Maps page). Phase 2 will further refine the three concepts, adjust the cost estimates as needed, and develop additional graphics to better display their features.
